Family Support

True Butterflies Foundation provides family support focused on helping survivors of domestic abuse and their children feel supported, rebuild stability, and move forward.

Key areas of family support include:

  • Supporting children and young people — recognising that domestic abuse can affect children emotionally and socially, and providing support to help them express feelings and build confidence.

  • Emotional support for families — offering a safe, understanding space where family members can talk through experiences and feelings.

  • Helping families rebuild relationships — supporting positive communication, trust, and healthy family connections after difficult experiences.

  • Practical guidance and signposting — helping families access relevant services and resources that support safety, wellbeing, and independence.

  • Confidence and resilience building — encouraging families to recognise their strengths and develop coping strategies.

  • A child-centred approach — considering the needs, feelings, and experiences of children as part of the family’s recovery journey.
